We went to the local state park and couldn't find any colorful rocks. So, we still collected rocks and used a rock book and poster to paint our own colorful rocks.
We painted a egg carton metaliic gold and silver. Let dry (did 2 coats). Painted rocks. Added decorations to the egg carton (clear glitter, small beads & pretend gems). Put rocks in egg carton.
I got the books from the library.
